FFL Transfers
An FFL transfer is required any time a firearm is purchased online or from an out-of-state dealer and shipped to a licensed dealer for pickup. As your local FFL, Custom Defense Solutions USA handles the paperwork, background check, and legal compliance so you can take possession safely and legally.
The Process
1. Purchase your firearm from any online retailer or out-of-state dealer.
2. Provide them with our FFL information — contact us and we will send a copy directly to your seller.
3. Once the firearm arrives at our location, we will notify you to schedule a pickup.
4. Bring a valid MA driver’s license or ID and your LTC/FID. We handle the 4473, background check, and MA compliance paperwork.
5. Pay the $25 transfer fee and you are on your way.
What to Bring
Valid Massachusetts driver’s license or state-issued ID and your current License to Carry (LTC) or Firearms Identification Card (FID). All transfers must comply with Massachusetts firearms laws.
Pricing
$25 per firearm. If you are transferring multiple firearms at the same time, the fee is $25 per gun listed on the form.
Massachusetts Compliance
Not all firearms sold out of state are transferable in Massachusetts. The Commonwealth maintains an approved firearms roster and has restrictions on large-capacity magazines and certain semi-automatic firearms. Before purchasing a firearm online or from an out-of-state dealer, please confirm that it is MA-compliant. If you are unsure, contact us before you buy — we are happy to help you verify.

Sight swaps, trigger swaps, and other very light gunsmithing on firearms you already own. We keep our scope deliberately narrow — we don’t even offer cleaning. For anything beyond a quick parts change, we’ll point you to a specialist.
